Firmware for HP 873n Type: Firmware This update fixes a compatibility issue with Smart Media cards that prevented an error message from being displayed when an attempt to write data to a Smart Media card failed due to "Bad Blocks." This meant that you were not given any indication that your data had NOT been copied and saved to the Smart Media card. "Bad Blocks" can occur from misuse, Electro Static Discharge, or normal wear. Download the firmware update. 2. Double-click SP23907.exe, and then click NEXT. 3. Accept the license terms, and then click NEXT. 4. Select YES to continue the Firmware Update. 5. Click OK to finish the update. 6. Shutdown the PC for at least 30 seconds and then turn it back on to complete the update.
